Your pregnancy week by week
Pregnancy goes on for nine months and there’s lots happening every week. If you’re curious to find out more about how your baby is growing read on ……
WEEK 11: Your baby is now about the size of a fig. Between 11 and 22 weeks is the period in your baby’s development when an important prenatal test for Down’s syndrome, a genetic condition that can result in learning difficulties, can be performed. A non-invasive pre natal NIPT scan consists of a blood-screening test for Down’s syndrome (called Harmony) with a 30-minute scan to check viability and dates. Your baby no longer has webbed toes and fingers as they have now separated and their nail beds are developing. The head is still disproportionately large but now the body will start to lengthen and the baby uncurl itself. They will be able to stretch out and move around.
